About Us
Our People:
Springgrow was founded by Callum Hughes and Terry Milton in 2018.
Callum is the owner and founder of Faregame a one stop shop established in 2005 for premium wild game, specialising in venison. He supplies many of the top end restaurants in New Zealand.
Terry is the owner of Milcrest Estate Wines, a Nelson Boutique wine producer established in 2006, making quality wines for predominantly the On-premise NZ market.
Our Journey:
We identified a gap in the market for a versatile reusable plant support system which would have domestic and commercial applications in the tomato, pepper, grapes and hops industries. Besides string and bamboo there was not a lot of options for growers.
After 12 Months of Research and Development we were ready to manufacture a prototype. We engaged the assistance of 4Design a Queenstown based design company and by July of 2019 we had a working prototype that we were satisfied with.
Having seen a void in the market for supporting your grape vines and bines we believe this product goes a long way to replacing string and bamboo stakes that have been used to date.
The focus was on the product being resuable, water and UV resistant and to be labour saving for the potential commercial market, and we think this has been achieved. We were also very keen to produce eco friendly packaging, which we have achieved. The packaging is made from recycled cardboard and contains no plastic bags or ties.
Our mission is to provide the best quality innovative New Zealand products at an affordable price to you. We will be adding products in the near future so make sure you sign up for our newsletter to receive updates as products are added.
Having only been in the market place since October 2019 we are determined to see this product be made available globally.
It is a simple innovative idea which is easy to use by anyone with an interest in growing plants that require lateral and vertical support.
